What is the Low2High event?
Low2High is a community fitness event founded by ultrarunner Ashish Kasodekar. It's a remarkable venture aimed at inspiring people to aim 'high' in life, symbolizing the journey from the lowest to the highest points of our existence. The event is celebrating 76 years of India's independence, with an ambitious target of covering 76 lakh kilometers collectively in 76 days. Participants can contribute to this distance through running, walking, cycling, or hiking.

Who is Ashish Kasodekar?
Ashish Kasodekar is a resident of Baner, Pune, and a renowned ultrarunner. He has several accolades to his name, including a Guinness World Record for the Most Consecutive Marathons by a Male, 60 marathons in 60 days. He's also the first and only Indian to finish the world's cruelest marathon - the 555 KM La Ultra Marathon in Ladakh. Ashish's primary goal through the Low2High event is to inspire individuals to seek their 'high points' in life and embrace fitness as a collective family goal. He will commence his awe-inspiring run from Kuttanad, Kerala, the lowest point in mainland India, and traverse 10 states before reaching the pinnacle of Umling La, Ladakh, covering a total distance of 4000 km.

How can I participate in the Low2High event?
Anyone interested in participating can register for free on the Low2High official website. After filling in the basic details, select your running group or corporate group (if applicable). A Bib Number will be issued upon registration, and you'll be prompted to sync your mobile device or fitness app to track your progress. Contributions to the event's KM goal can be made via running, walking, cycling, or hiking.

How is the progress of participants tracked?
Once registered, you will receive a Bib Number and a link to sync your mobile device or fitness app. The recommended app for those without any is Strava. Your progress toward the KM goal will be tracked from June 1 to August 15, 2023.


Are there international participants in the Low2High event?
Yes, while the majority of the participants are from India, the event has also seen registrations from Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Malaysia, Japan, and Austria, among others.

What's special about Ashish Kasodekar's run in this event?
Ashish Kasodekar himself aims to cover 4,000km in 76 days, running from Kuttanad, Kerala - the lowest motorable point in India, to Umling La, Ladakh - the highest motorable point. It's a metaphorical representation of his life philosophy of moving from low to high points in life.

How is the Low2High event helping promote fitness among children?
As part of the event, Kasodekar stops by various schools during his run, providing fitness kits to children, thereby nurturing the importance of physical fitness from an early age.

Is there any competition involved in the Low2High event?
While the primary goal is fitness and motivation, the event does have a leaderboard to foster a healthy spirit of competition. Participants are encouraged to aim for the top, but the ultimate focus is on individual progress and the collective goal.
