However, every so often, I'd come across candidates who lacked these specific competencies. But there was always something compelling about their story. Be it a part-time job that funded their education, or a project they took up against all odds, their resumes screamed one thing: hard work.
It's an interesting dilemma - do you prioritize industry-specific skills or the indomitable spirit of perseverance? My decision to choose the latter has never disappointed me. Why?
